Paramount Pictures has seen the advantages that these low-budget horror films, so they made good use of it. And the result: Paramount Pictures remained at the top spot of the highest earning studios of 2011. So they have announced the fourth Paranormal Activity to hit the theaters in 2012 – probably just in time for the Halloween.
For a quick recap and for those who have are yet to experience the Paranormal, Paranormal Activity is a supernatural horror film. The movie tells about the story of Micah and Katie who are haunted by an evil entity. The film is narrated by a found footage from a couple who wants to see what haunts them.
In the United States alone, the film earned almost $108 million against its budget of $15,000. In terms of return of investment, Paranormal Activity is the highest earning film ever made. The movie is followed by Paranormal Activity 2, a prequel that took place two months before and after the events in the first movie took place. The second film did well in the box office too. It was followed by Paranormal Activity 3 that yet again set another record upon its release. The third installation tells the origin of the demon that haunts the main protagonists. The events took place 18 years before the incidents in the first two movies.
Not much has been revealed about Paranormal Activity 4 aside from the news that it will retain the cast from the third paranormal and that the players in the original film will return. Directors Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost come back to share the director's chair again.
Paranormal Activity 4 Stars Micah Sloat, Katie Featherston, Chris Smith, Chloe Csengery, Lauren Bittner, Sprague Grayden, to name a few. Specific plot details, release dates and trailer will haunt you soon so do not close your eyes or else you get left behind. Paranormal Activity 4 release date will surely fall in the latter part of 2012.
And because not much has been said about the part 4, fans have been speculating about where the movie is going. It is interesting to note that the third film caught a glimpse of a coven, perhaps the story could revolve around there? Or the creators might just follow the demonic Katie and her nephew, hunter who has been abducted. Nobody knows yet for sure.
